What Is a Bug?
A bug is something in the system that isn’t working the way it’s supposed to. This might be a button that doesn’t do anything, a screen that won’t load, or an error message that pops up when it shouldn’t. If it feels like the software is broken, that’s likely a bug.
Examples of bugs:
- A page not loading or freezing
- A feature working differently than expected (e.g., saving data incorrectly)
What’s a User Error?
A user error happens when the system works as expected, but something was missed or done incorrectly while using it. Don’t worry—this is common! It might be entering the wrong information, forgetting a required step, or misunderstanding how something works.
Examples of user errors:
- Forgetting to fill in a required field
- Clicking on the wrong link or button
Not sure if it’s a bug or a mistake? No problem—send it in anyway. We’ll take a look!
